MLB Thursday: Dodgers and Angels Continue Freeway Series

The Dodgers and Angels continue their I-5 interleague series when they meet tonight in Orange County. First pitch is set for 10:07 PM ET at Angels Stadium where the Dodgers are -125 moneyline favorites. The total is 8.5. The teams have traded 4-0 victories in the first two games of their four-game set.

The Dodgers (52-27, 19-16 road) who saw their 10-game winning streak snapped on Monday, bounced back on Tuesday behind seven scoreless innings from Kenta Maeda and a three-run home run from Joc Pederson. Dave Roberts team has now won 17 of their past 19 games and leads the National League with a 52-27 record.

The Angels (41-40, 21-16 home) who had won four of the previous five games, managed just five hits off of Maeda and Brendan Morrow. Eric Young Jr. and Yunel Escobar each had two base knocks.

The pitching matchup will feature Hyun Jin-Ryu (3-6, 4.30 ERA) against Alex Meyer (3-4, 4.20 ERA).

The Angels have taken six of the last eight series meetings and are 7-1 in their past eight interleague games overall. The Halo’s are 5-2 last seven against the NL West and 1-5 in Meyers last six starts.

The Dodgers are 5-1 in their last six road games and 42-15 in their last 57 overall. However LA is 2-5 in its past seven vs. the AL West and 1-7 in Ryu’s last eight road starts.

The Dodgers are 13-5 to the OVER in their past 18 overall, 6-3 to the high side in their last nine interleague road games, and 3-0 to the OVER in Ryu’s last three starts.

Anaheim is 3-1-1 to the OVER in its past five home games and 3-0-1 to the UNDER in Meyers past four home starts.

The Dodgers Tuesday night victory improved their run line record to 47-32 (+21 units)
