|Kyle Guy leads 3rd ranked Virginia against North Carolina State|
Take #820 Virginia Cavaliers and North Carolina State Wolfpack UNDER 133 (3 PM ET Sunday, January 14)
Two of the biggest surprises in College Basketball square off in Charlottesville where third-ranked Virginia hosts North Carolina State. Tip-off is set for 3 PM ET at John Paul Jones Arena where the Cavs are -15 point favorites. The total is 133.
Heading into the year Virginia (15-1, 4-0 ACC, 11-0 home) was expected to be no better than a middle of the pack team in the rugged ACC. But thanks to sophomore guard Kyle Guy (15.4 points, 44.2 3-point percentage) they not only lead the conference but they’re #3 in the nation.
It’s been a historic start for North Carolina State (12-5, 2-2 ACC) which has back-to-back victories over Duke and Clemson - their first consecutive wins against ranked teams since 2007. Not bad for a team that was predicted to be among the conference cellar dwellers.
NC State leads the all-time series 82-64, but Virginia has won the last five. The Cavaliers posted a 70-55 win last season.
The UNDER is 5-0 in the last five meetings while North Carolina State is 6-1 to the UNDER in its last seven road games.
The Wolfpack are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings in Virginia while the road team is 16-5 ATS last 21 overall.
