Friday, January 5 Free NHL: Take Chicago to Vanquish Vegas

Take #60 Chicago Blackhawks -125 over Vegas Golden Knights (8:35 PM ET Friday, January 5)

The Vegas Golden Knights look to bounce back from a rare loss when they take on the Chicago Blackhawks in the finale of a brief two-game road trip. The puck drops at 8:35 PM ET at American Airlines Arena where the Blackhawks are -125 moneyline favorites. The total is 6.

Vegas (27-10-0-2, 10-8-0-1 road) had its eight-game winning streak snapped in St. Louis losing 2-1 to the Blues. It was the first regulation loss for the Golden Knights since a 7-4 setback December 1 in Winnipeg. Vegas still leads the Pacific Division by three points over the Los Angeles Kings who suffered a 4-3 loss in Calgary. Marc-Andre Fleury (8-2-1) stood tall once again making 37 saves. Erik Haula scored the lone goal netting his 15th to match a career high.

Chicago (19-14-5-1, 10-5-2-0 home) looked sharp in all aspects of its game on Wednesday beating the Rangers 5-2 in New York. Patrick Kane broke out of a season long slump with a goal and an assist for the Blackhawks and now has six points in his past five games. Chicago now owns a modest three-game point streak.

Vegas is 4-1 in its last five road games and 8-4 in their past 12 against the Central Division. Chicago has won its last four home games but is 8-20 in its last 28 against the Western Conference.

The Golden Knights won the first meeting between the two teams taking a 4-2 decision in Vegas on October 4.
