NFL Thursday Night Preview: Giants, Eagles in NFC East Clash
#103 Philadelphia Eagles vs. New York Giants (5:20 PM Pacific Thursday, October 11)
A pair of longtime rivals square off in New York as the Giants host the Philadelphia Eagles. Game time is 5:20 PM Pacific at MetLife Stadium where the Eagles are -3 point favorites. The total is 44.
Philadelphia (2-3, 1-4 ATS) has lost two straight, including a 23-21 setback to Minnesota on Sunday in a rematch of last years NFC championship game. The Eagles have struggled on offense, failing to score more than 23 points in a single game. However the Philadelphia defense has been tough, especially against the run where they rank second in the league allowing 66.4 yards per game.
New York (1-4, 2-3 ATS) suffered a tough 33-31 loss at Carolina on a 63-yard field goal. There's dissension in the locker room where Odell Beckham has been critical of the teams play-calling in general and QB Eli Manning in particular.
Philadelphia has lost both of its road games, failing to cover in either contest. New York has lost both its home games and like the Eagles haven't covered at MetLife Stadium. The Eagles have won three straight and four of five in the series but each game was decided by five points or fewer.
